The Harding Institute for Freedom and Democracy

July 24, 2008

We welcome Danny Sadler to the ranks of the Harding Institute. Danny comes very highly recommended from both academia and the private sector. His personal background, having lived in the Middle East, will be a huge asset to the Institute.

We bid a fond farewell to Associate Fellow Eli Perle.  Eli has served the Institute for close to two years and we all wish him the best on his future endeavors.  We hope that the transition to our new Associate Fellow Jimmy Havermayer will go smoothly.  Jimmy worked with Martin on the erstwhile Giuliani campaign, and we all wish him a warm welcome to the D.C. area, and to the Institute family.  There's a lot of new faces, but hopefully with Martin back in town, things will go well.

The Institute welcomes our newest staffer, Poppy Cartwright, as our latest Research Assistant.  Welcome aboard, Poppy!

February 17, 2008

Senior Fellow Martin Eisenstadt, fresh off his work on the Giuliani campaign, begins a fact-finding tour of the Middle East this month.  His travels should take him to Israel, Oman, Yemen and Pakistan.  The whole staff wishes him safe travels on this important mission.

The contractor is still taking his time with the new office space.  Apparently the delay now is with D.C. building inspectors and the sprinkler system.

January 14, 2008

The Institute welcomes our new interns Chris Eagleton and Jenny Dunleavy for the semester!

January 10. 2008

Plans are still underway for the move to the new Georgetown office. Thanks to the generous support of the Harding Family Trust, this office space will be a big step forward for the Institute.

Thanks to everyone who attended the annual holiday party.  (And no, Marwan, we won't publish the pictures!)  Eli will be collecting for our annual toy drive for troops throughout the week.

We had a bit of a scare with security. Understandable given the work that we do, but regrettably it means that we've had to remove our direct contact information from the site. The staff is a little shaken, but we're fine. Many thanks to the team from ATF.

Thanks to everyone who attended the reception at Annapolis. If the conference as a whole is viewed as a stepping stone to peace, we'd like to think we did our small part.

November 4, 2007:

We've closed the application process for Spring semester internships. Thanks to everyone who applied!

November 2, 2007:

Due to a hard-drive crash, we've had to rebuild the website from scratch. Apologies to everyone who has contributed over the years, but sadly it may take some time to reconstruct the archives. Please bear with us.
